As a child, Sally Palmer Field collected scraps of fabric from textile manufacturers in Lowell like the Ideal Dress Company on Bridge Street. This wall hanging depicts the Merrimack, Boott, Hamilton, Newmarket, Wannalancit, and Hockmeyer mills and is sewn with Meyer's thread. It also incorporates tiny pieces of locally made corduroy and nylon woven for parachutes during World War II. This piece commemorates both Sally's Lowell roots and the city's historic connection to the textile industry.
