The Flying Horses Carousel in Oak Bluffs, Martha's Vineyard is the oldest continually operating platform carousel in the United States. Anthony Holand made this weather vane in the likeness of one of its horses, "Maggie Bell." Tuck & Holand is a metal sculpting studio that got its start back in 1974, when Travis Tuck created his first weather vane as a prop for the movie Jaws. Holand began as an apprentice to Tuck in 1996. In 2002 Travis made Holand a partner in the business; four months later Tuck died of a recurrence of cancer. Under Tuck's guidance, Holand had worked on more than forty custom weather vanes.
