Carlos Santiago Arroyo was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1947. In 1971 he immigrated to Boston to teach in a predominantly Latino public school, bringing his passion for santos with him. "I love bringing the santos to the classroom, to Latino students, because here they don't talk about Puerto Rican culture. It's just amazing to me." With his beautiful santos, Carlos reminds us of the power that a sacred art form can have in the preservation of cultural values and history. Here he highlights a notable event, The Flight to Egypt, in Christ's early life.
